2015 Harvest as of Sept 15, 2015

Harvest figures are down from 2014.  Many local grape growers & fruit growers suffered from cold temps in winter of 2014.
2015 Spring frosts took out many of our blooming fruits.

Here at our vineyard our production is way down.
We are currently harvesting Jupiter's and still have quite a bit of grapes.  So if you are interested in a black grape that tastes great you may want to try these.

Jupiter's are a very light concord flavored grape with that wonderful purple color good for a number of uses:
  • Eating Fresh
  • Juicing
  • Making Jellies
  • Use in Smoothies
  • Freeze these to make smoothies all winter long.
  • Raisins
  • Make wonderful Wine also!!!

2014 Grape Forecast

Grape Prices Increasing for 2014.
As a number of our nation's growing regions like California face unpresented water shortages.  Many of these Vineyards are just trying to keep there plant alive and harvest what fruit they can.
While their grapes still have good flavor and color, the sizes produced this year are smaller then previous year's commercially grown crops.   With the storages of grapes on the market, this has increased prices to consumers.  Consumers have not seen the bargain pricing in the stores as they have seen last year.

Here in Idaho we do not have water shortages, but we have had some farmers have seen some damage to their plants due to a long cold winter in 2013.

Our outlook here in Idaho is still really good for the 2014 Harvest Season.  We are urging local buyers to plan ahead and know where you are going to obtain your products and keep in mind prices will be higher than last year.
